When the textile machines fell silent by the banks of the Viskan River, it was as if Sweden’s textile heart had stopped beating. The old rayon factory became one of the symbols of a lostgolden era. But from the silence, something new began to grow. Generations who had livedwith fabric and design in their hands wanted to continue using their expertise. Proudprofessionals, visionaries, researchers, entrepreneurs and creators saw the opportunity to weave Borås together again for a new future.

In 2014, Textile Fashion Center was inaugurated – a hub for innovation and collaboration. In the renovated factory building today, education, innovation, business development, entrepreneurship, history, present and future come together. Here, every day, we spin ideasfor sustainability and digital solutions. Here, future materials, new business models and social innovations are tested.

In the corridors once walked by factory workers, students, researchers and entrepreneurs nowmove with their eyes fixed on tomorrow.
